I am drawn to telling stories in my art, what we hide and what do we show others. The drama of Shakespeare can be seen in life today, in the family, love, betrayal, or in the battle for power.
The narrative pieces show the story of aspirations for wealth, status, beauty, youth and how precarious each of these are when you have them. The age of abundance in America is being replaced by the age of uncertainty, but we still cling to the old hopes.
Portraiture is infused with symbolism and reflecting key influences in the subject’s life, each portrait is highly personal to the subject’s life.
